Nursery Under Construction

Image
When I got home from California, the nursery was textured and ready for paint. On Friday after work, Correy primered the room so that it was all ready for paint. Saturday we had to go into town to get white paint for the ceiling and closet, and we got a paint that went on pink and dried white so that we would make sure that we weren't missing any spots. It was really cool but the pink doesn't really show up in pictures. But if you look close you may be able to tell that it has a pink tint to it. On Sunday, when we got home from Church we painted the nursery and I love the way that it turned out. Afterwards I was exhausted so I laid down and took a nap, while Correy helped his parents move furniture and when I woke up he was just moving the last bit of furniture. He decided he wasn't tired and was feeling rather productive so he swept the Nursery and started to lay down carpet, as he was getting to the end and just needed to to the closet I started vacuuming and by the time ...

Nursery Under Construction Update

Image
Correy finished the drywalling of the nursery after a long couple days of work, and I wish that meant we were done. He started the mudding and got pretty far but we still have to do some sanding and possibly some touch up work before we can texture. Hopefully we can get texture done in the next few weeks and then the walls painted and I think it will start looking more like a nursery and less like a construction zone.

Nursery Under Construction

Image
So we began construction on the nursery. But before we could start we had the task of cleaning out the Nursery, which of course no one looked forward to. Here is some pictures of the nursery before we cleaned it out. And here is the closet, that we had to go through, sort, box up and move. But we did finally finish, and it only showed us how much work we had to do. Doesn't the closet look so big now that nothing is in it? So Correy started working on Drywall, I wanted to help but lets face it, I couldn't do anything but get in the way. After 12 hours of work he finally finished, I was surprised in took so long because he only had the closet, one wall and the ceiling, I would have hated to see him doing the whole room by himself.

We have carpet!

Image
We now have carpet, all we need is to get now is some couches. It is so nice to step out of my room and feel soft carpet instead of cold concrete. We finished the living room 2 weeks ahead of schedule, so hopefully we will be able to finish the nursery on time, since I think that will take longer then we expected. This is now what our living room looks like with one chair, a side table and a bunch of baby crap, the baby is already taking over. Hopefully this weekend we can finish drywalling the nursery, and then during the week we can mud after work so that it is ready for texture when we get back from our Oregon trip.

We have Running Water!!!!!

Image
So we finally got the sink put in and hooked up so that I can now do dishes, you dont know how excited I was. We also got the upper cabinets put up but we still need to put the doors on, but that isn't a big deal, which means my kitchen is done, and my goal was to have it all done by the time I was 10 weeks and we finished right on time. Doesnt it look sooo great? Then on my birthday, I told Correy that I really just wanted to get the living room painted and ready for carpeting, so Correy started moving furniture and I cleaned up the place. As soon as it was ready we headed into town to get primer, and the nursery's paint, since I had a 5 dollar off coupon that was about to expire. And when we were checking out the guy at the cash register, ended up giving us 15 dollars off which was super sweet. When we got home, we decided to primer since it would have all night to dry and both Correy and I had Memorial Day off to finish up painting. Correy and I ended up sleeping in till 1:3...

The Kitchen is Almost Finished!!!!!

Image
So we finally got the cabinets done, we bought a used set then sanded them down and refinished them. It was alot of work but totally worth it. We ended up buying countertop that was on clearance at Lowes and I think it looks really good. Since these pictures were taken we added shelves on the right side for appliances. All that is left to do is put in the sink, which we just bought and finish the two upper cabinets that we have and the kitchen will be fully functional. I cant wait hopefully only another week and we will be on to the next project of painting and carpeting.

Everything is Coming along Nicely

So there was kind of a hault on finishing the basement but now things are getting done quickly. We have our stove hooked up and Correy put down wood flooring in thekitchen area. The wood looks amazing and now all we need is cabinets and I though that that would be a while since they can be costly but we found some that we should be picking up within the week and hopefully have them installed in two weeks. We are even getting a countertop and sink. And after that is installed, me kitchen will be complete. Then just carpeting around the wood and painting the walls and the whole living area will be complete hopefully 2 months tops. Then its onto the spare bedroom, which has alot of work to be done. I will give more details when we get to that point.

The Busy Month of November

So now it is half way through November and we still have yet to have snow that sticks, and only a few storms. When last year the first snow that stuck was in October. In a way it is good because of all the driving I have to do, and I have yet to buy snow boots and a snow coat. But I really want it to snow so that Correy and I can build a snowman, go sledding, and all those fun things you can do in the winter. Correy and I have been busy with work and plans for trying to remodel the basement. We finally have found a stove, which means we are going to be starting on the kitchen soon, but hopefully after we finish up a few more things. This weekend we really hope to at least get the bathroom painted. So we will see how it goes. Next Wednesday we will be leaving for Wyoming for Thanksgiving. And so this will be my first Thanksgiving away from my family and the first one as a married women who has to make food. So we will see how it goes. Then we are going Black Friday shopping in Salt Lake...

Weekend in Provo

Image
So this last weekend was the first weekend that Correy and I have spent our married life away from each other. He went hunting with some friends and since I didnt want to be home alone I thought that it was the perfect day to go down to Provo to see my best friend every. This was also my first time driving a distance by myself. The drive went smoothly and I was cutting time and thought that I would be there in no time. And as soon as I got 10 miles out of town I hit the construction and so the last ten miles of my trip took me 40 minutes to drive. But finally I got there. And I got IN N OUT, yum something I have been craving and so excited to get. Then later that night I went to Provo Canyon with Heather and some friend, and then some random people where we started a bonfire and made smores. Then around 12:30 a popo showed up and told us that the park closed 3 hours ago, when really it closed at 11. So we had to put out the fire when we had no water . . . lets just say that we found a ...

Finally getting around to updating everything

Image
So much has been going on and my time has been spent doing so much. So we are all moved in, well sort of, as much as we can right now. The bedroom is all unpacked and we have made one of the bedrooms into an office with our computers and printer and stuff. But also it has become out storage room with a bunch of our boxes, mainly kitchen stuff and memorabilia and craft things. Our kitchen consists of a fridge, microwave, conventional oven, small counter space and a bunch of boxes. Right now the search is on for cheap kitchen cabinets that we can find second hand. And then a dishwasher and a oven. The bathroom was the first thing we set up, with a new sink and counter space, which is great because our washer and dryer is right there and it makes folding clothes so much easier. See how beautiful. And under the counter where there is nothing in the picture I have put a basket for all of our cleaning supplies. We bought a greenish color of paint to paint the bathroom area, but first we hav...
